The official commemorative medal of the NBU Mint "City of Heroes - Kherson" is dedicated to the unconquered Kherson - the only regional center of Ukraine, which was temporarily occupied by russian invaders from the first days of the full-scale invasion.
 
On the obverse, under a stylized map of the city with lines from Lina Kostenko's novel "Berestechko", a small State Emblem of Ukraine, port cranes, the historic Stanislav-Adzhigolsky lighthouse, dolphins and seagulls are engraved.
 
The medal symbolizes the courage of Kherson residents, who, despite the danger, went to resistance rallies, and immortalizes 256 days of occupation, which ended with the liberation of the city by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
