Nil Khasevych (1905-1952) – an outstanding Ukrainian graphic artist, member of the OUN and UGVR (Ukrainian Main Liberation Council), chief artist (“artist”) of the UPA, who, despite his disability, worked underground, producing engravings, posters, bofons (receipts) and sketches of military awards. He headed underground printing houses, founded a school of carvers, and created a visual image of the insurgent liberation movement. On March 4, 1952, he died in battle with a detachment of the MGB (NKVD) in a secret place near the village of Sukhivtsi, Rivne region.
On November 25, 2025, the National Bank of Ukraine put into circulation a commemorative nickel silver coin with a face value of 2 hryvnia in a souvenir packaging “120 years since the birth of Nil Khasevych”, which is a continuation of the series “Outstanding Personalities of Ukraine”.
