The Australian $5 2000 Field Hockey collector coin was issued as part of a joint collaboration between the Royal Australian Mint and the Perth Mint to commemorate the XXVII Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia in 2000. The coin is number 5 in a set of 28 coins depicting all 28 sports held at the 2000 Olympic Games, all dated 2000 but issued between 1997 and 2000. Some were available individually, while others were only available as a set of 28 coins in a special album.
